Mutual Expectations

Coach Team Survey

Unspoken expectations are often a silent killer of relationships. When coaches, players, or parents assume the other party "just knows" what is expected, unmet assumptions quickly turn into frustration, resentment, and conflict.

The Shared Mutual Expectations framework is a process designed to co-create documented standards of behavior and communication around one core question: "What do you need from me to be successful?"

Where to Use This Framework

  • Head Coach and Assistant Coach

  • Coach and Player(s)

  • Coach and Sports Parent
